Oh goodness

Oh goodness

When a building is built in the 1940 to 1950s they used braided wiring for the electric.  Talk about a fire hazard.  We have ripped it all out and replaced it with up to date electrical.  Then when you trust someone to do the right things and they totally botched the job its pretty frustrating.  Using the wrong wiring, wrong tubing, wrong wire holders, and just willy nilly it all over the place.  And you don't know because the walls were covering it all up and you trusted their knowledge.  It is so frustrating!  Its all been ripped out and replaced the right way too.  I have learned so much in this process, like how to actually do my own wiring and make it safe!

I forgot how satisfying it is to learn and then do the work myself.  Or do the work with help but still having a hand in the process.  Like I said before I am thankful for everything happening the way it has.  Because having a safe space for people is my ultimate goal.  Both for them physically but also mentally.  And now I know that our buildings will be safe for them physically.

There is still so much to do around here and everyday is frustrating when you find things that set you back a day or three.  On average how many times do you go to Menards? I am on a first name basis now with all of the employees in electrical at both Hutchinson and Buffalo. It's actually kind of nice because the first question I am asked is the coop or the barn today? 😂😂 The best part is we passed the rough in inspection, with only a few things we need to fix. Like adding outdoor lights.  And let me tell you it is really not an easy decision with so many options.  But I will figure it out! I hope....😂😂
